As you will be aware, Kate, Princess Of Wales has just announced that she has cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. So, here is what's going on in her chart.

On the day of her surgery, (17th January) the transiting Sun was in a square aspect to Kate's natal Pluto which indicates tremendous intensity. As anyone who has been through major surgery knows, it is an extremely stressful experience on every level, physically, emotionally and psychologically. 

Transiting Mars was in a square to Kate's natal Mars on that day and during the days after, creating a feeling of pressure and erratic energy levels. This is normal for someone undergoing surgery - one minute you're full of courage, the next you're terrified at the prospect of what might happen during and after the operation. Interestingly, this planetary combination exaggerates opinions and triggers a lack of neutrality and a tendency towards fanaticism. Exactly what's been happening in the media.

Transiting Uranus conjunct her natal Chiron until the beginning of April 2024 will have made Kate feel very alone and perhaps isolated. Chiron symbolises the healing of deep wounds and can bring painful experiences, both physical and emotional. Sensitivity is heightened under this planetary influence and she will be feeling very vulnerable. 

Transiting Uranus square her natal Ascendant will have brought nervous tension and upset for Kate. This planetary influence which will continue until mid-May 2024 is associated with instability and disruption to the normal routine. It brings a major shakeup to the status quo which will be challenging especially in connection to her personal freedom and self-expression.

Transiting Chiron is square Kate's natal Sun and Moon until early May 2024. This planetary influence tends to bring feelings of alienation or depression. Traumatic issues connected to health will result in a major change to daily habits or lifestyle. The health crisis she has experienced will make her more aware of her body and it's functions. 

With Solar Arc Chiron conjunct a World Point at 0° Cancer, it's no wonder Kate's health has caused so much emotional reaction from the public. When she emerges from her recuperation to resume her public duties there will be a surge of compassion flowing towards her.

COMING UP....

A Solar Eclipse on 8th April will be in a square aspect to Kate's natal Sun and Moon. This will bring a six-month period of extreme sensitivity, and maybe confusion. A problem with details will cause more questions than answers. There will be a major change in how others perceive Kate or in how she perceives herself and she will be protected much more than usual.

Throughout April, transiting Jupiter will be in a very positive trine aspect to Kate's natal Sun. This influence indicates good health and a feeling of well-being, although she may not feel inclined toward physical activity, but will be keen to get some exercise, especially outdoors.

From mid-May 2024 until the end of February 2025, transiting Saturn will be in a sextile aspect to Kate's natal Sun. This influence will present many positive opportunities. She will have more patience and perseverance than usual and will be building up her strength. This will be a period of successful preparation for the future.

Kate and Meghan - Part 1

There's been a lot of fuss in the media recently regarding the alleged frosty relationship between Kate, Duchess Of Cambridge and Meghan, Duchess Of Sussex. So, are they really royal rivals or is this just the press whipping up a dust-storm? Here's their Synastry....

Looking at the connections between their natal charts it mostly seems harmonious. However, both have their natal Mars in a square aspect to each other. This planetary combination shows a lack of understanding between the two duchesses. There is probably quite a bit of tension. In their royal duties, they need to work independently as teaming up with each other would bring impatience, irritation, and arguments. Giving each other space to pursue separate interests will be very important. Provoking a reaction from each other could be a big problem. 

Meghan's natal Pluto is in a square aspect to Kate's natal Sun. Whatever happens, this relationship will have a powerful impact on both of their lives. Kate probably finds Meghan to be fascinating, intriguing, and even mesmerising. Meghan could sometimes feel threatened by Kate's displays of ego and pride. However she also has the ability to easily see Kate's strengths and vulnerabilities which, in turn, will make Kate feel defensive as she'll be aware that Meghan can see right through her.

This planetary combination of the Sun and Pluto shows that the nature of Meghan and Kate's relationship is very deep and hard to define, and unless they keep their distance from each other, there will likely be explosive moments between them. With Meghan's natal Pluto in a square aspect to Kate's natal Nodes, there will be a sense of uneasiness and hesitance between the two women, and like the Pluto/Moon connection, it also represents fear and fascination.  This aspect will bring challenges and obstacles with much tension and friction

Meghan's natal Pluto is conjunct Kate's natal Saturn. This planetary combination indicates two people who are 'chained together' for some reason - in this case because of the restraints of royal duty and the fact that their husbands are brothers. Kate feels threatened by Meghan and Meghan feels blocked by Kate. If the two duchesses can overcome their emotional insecurity and unite together, they could, in the future, become a force to be reckoned with. 

Kate's natal Mars is in a square aspect to Meghan's natal Midheaven. This combination has the potential for Kate to help Meghan make a success of her new role as a member of the Royal Family - but is Kate willing to do this, or is she too fiercely competitive? 

Kate's natal Saturn and Pluto are in a square aspect to Meghan's natal Ascendant. This indicates that she could bring Meghan a much-needed sense of structure and stability. However, she could also be a very restrictive influence in Meghan's life. Kate will either be transforming or destructive. These two could have a ruthless attitude towards each other resulting in drastic upheavals and power struggles.

With Kate's natal North Node conjunct Meghan's natal Ascendant there would have been an immediate and powerful connection between the two women. They were brought together by fate and a real empathy is possible. These two women are very aware that they are on some kind of path together. They have a mutual investment in one another’s growth, whether they realise it or not, and need to make more effort in moving forward together in life. The Duchess Of Cambridge - Update

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was born Catherine Elizabeth Middleton on Saturday 9th January 1982 in Reading, Berkshire, England, UK. During my recent break I was able to catch up with a lot of people I don't normally have time to talk with, and chatting to fellow astrologers, I discovered that there has been a correction of the Duchess' time of birth. Apparently, a very reliable source claims she was born at 7pm. So, using this information, here is an updated astrological profile.

As a Sun sign Capricorn, Kate is no stranger to hard work and ambition. She has enormous staying-power and perseverance. This lady knows what she wants. She has a strong sense of self-discipline and a deep respect for tradition. In sector five of her natal chart, the Sun brings a need for intellectual stimulation, travel and a love of adventure and sporting activities. With her natal Sun in this position, she has an inner desire to prove her strengths and abilities. The Sun is in an opposition aspect to the Moon in Kate's chart - just before a Lunar Eclipse. This indicates that in her private life she may experience inner tension and conflict, causing her to become argumentative. There is also a sense of striving to break free from the past. The Sun in a square to Saturn suggests that Kate may be - or have been - very cautious, self-conscious, serious and perhaps even pessimistic. This planetary configuration often shows the tendency towards an inferiority complex. Interestingly, not only is Leo the sign of royalty, but it's also a very prolific influence within the astrological charts of the British Royal Family. Her father-in-law Prince Charles also has a Leo Ascendant, as does his wife Camilla, so Kate should fit in rather well. The Duchess has Mars in the sign of Libra in sector two of her natal chart.
