2026 - Part Two: February

There is so much to say about the year 2026 that it's impossible to convey the details in just one or two posts. Therefore, I'll be writing about what's to come every few weeks and giving it to you in installments. 

At the end of January, transiting Mars formed a conjunction with Pluto. Mars Pluto aspects tend to bring power struggles with a determined and stubborn need to win. Therefore, the first few months of 2026 will feel like a worse version of 2025. 

On 17th February 2026 there will be a Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius, bringing significant new beginnings and a new sense of reality. Under this planetary influence, meaningful changes and challenges will take place. The eclipse will trigger a period of shifts in attitudes, beliefs and political affiliations. People, places and things in the public eye that will be influenced by this eclipse include: 

President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and the USA.

The family of Madeleine McCann, Prince Harry, Victoria Beckham, and the BBC talent show Strictly Come Dancing. 

Ukraine, and President Zelensky - both his personal chart and his inauguration chart. These are just some of the horoscopes I've analysed. Basically, the people and places in the news right now will be powerfully affected by this Solar Eclipse for at least the next 12 months. Watch and wait.....

The Saturn Neptune conjunction will make its final hit on 20th February 2026 at 0° Aries. We have a saying in astrology: The final hit is the hardest. Therefore, everything that this aspect represents will be at its most powerful. Not only situated in the sign of Aries but at the very beginning of the zodiac circle, on a World Point, this means a massive change for every single one of us - especially if you were born on or around 21st March. 

With the planet of reality coming together with the planet of illusion, how will this influence play out? One of the possibilities is the discovery of lost or missing people. Anything which has vanished without trace could suddenly reappear. Anything which has been shrouded in mystery may be revealed. Conversely, that which we consider to be real, might be exposed as a fake, a hoax or complete fantasy. There might also be disappearances. I'm also getting the sense of escapology or escapism. Who is trying to escape and from what? When Saturn and Neptune are conjunct, it brings massive change to Russia. The last time these two planets were in conjunction, the Soviet Union collapsed, Expect something very similar - and it's starting NOW.

At the end of the month there will be a square aspect between Mars in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus from the 24th February until 3rd March. This planetary influence could bring much restlessness, tension and hasty decisions. During this time, events may come out of the blue, including technical glitches. There will a high risk of accidents.

February will be a very eventful month. Get ready!

2026 - Part One: Overview

There are many theories as to what the year 2026 will bring: miraculous new inventions, mind-blowing discoveries, an alien revelation and even the the Second Coming. Believe it or not, none of this is far-fetched at all. There really is the possibility of any, or even all, of these events happening. One thing is for sure - by the end of 2026, we will all be much more spiritually aware.

However, I'm sure you are all familiar with the saying, "It will get worse before it gets better" and this will be the case during the first few weeks of 2026 when the problems of 2025 will seem to reach a crescendo. 

The first major planetary influence of 2026 will be a Solar Eclipse  on the 17th February at 28° Aquarius. This will be in an opposition aspect to Donald Trump's natal Mars and natal Ascendant which could bring issues connected to his marriage, relationships or professional partnerships - including adversaries and opponents.This eclipse will also conjunct the USA natal Moon. In the chart of a nation, the Moon represents the population, so a change of public attitude is highly likely with a possible connection to health matters or workers' strikes. It will be a big year for America in 2026 as the President is due to celebrate his 80th birthday in June, the United States will be 250 years old in July and the 25th anniversary of 9/11 will be commemorated in September. I'll be writing about all of these events throughout 2026.

The final exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune will take place on 20th February and will be extremely powerful as it is not only situated in the sign of Aries but at the very beginning of the zodiac circle, on a World Point. For the last few months, transiting Uranus, Neptune and Pluto have been in a Double Sextile configuration. This indicates that we are in the process of realising positive opportunities. From the end of January onwards, this configuration will be activated by transiting Mars when it conjuncts Pluto. It will then square Pluto in late May. Mars Pluto aspects tend to bring power struggles with a determined and stubborn need to win. However, when Mars forms a trine aspect to Pluto in early July, we could see a period of extraordinary energy which will result in very positive and constructive change.

On 17th April 2026, there will be seven planets transiting Aries - the sign of New Beginnings. This will include the Sun and Moon conjunct Chiron, Mercury will conjunct Mars, Saturn and Neptune. The last time there was a line-up of seven planets in the same sign was on 5th February 1962 in Aquarius. You can read about this in my 'Age Of Aquarius' articles in the blog. 

Mars is one of the planets which activates or triggers other planetary aspects. I get the feeling that there will be increased military activity around this period. Working behind the scenes and covert operations are likely. The avoidance of confrontation will bring the need for well orchestrated plans in order to achieve the end result. What will this be? 

Transiting Mars will be in a square aspect to Jupiter in early May. During this period we will all be drawn to social, moral and spiritual issues. There will be the presence of a very dignified figure who will lead by example and inspire others through actions and gestures on a grand scale. But who will it be?

In late May, transiting Mars will square Pluto bringing intense energy and determination to succeed. However, there is the possibility of a rise to power resulting in aggressive actions from others - either individuals or organizations - who may feel threatened by some growing influence. Could this be a new political movement? Whatever the source, their ambitions might stir up opposition and make new enemies. 

Mars will conjunct transiting Uranus in early July. This could be a very explosive planetary influence as it symbolises rebellion, impulsive actions, and sudden or shocking events. The global mood in general will be more unpredictable at this time. On the positive side, the start of a new and unique project will take place, perhaps involving heavy machinery or electricity. 

From July onwards, 2026 will take a different course, becoming much more serene and harmonious. The reason for this will be revealed in upcoming posts.

Transiting Mars Through Cancer

Mars entered the sign of Cancer on 4th September 2024 where it will remain until 4th November. It will then spend a couple of months in the early degrees of Leo, after which it retrogrades back into Cancer on 6th January 2025. It resumes direct motion on 24th February before leaving Cancer on 18th April 2025. 

A Mars transit usually lasts for around six weeks, This one, the first Mars retrograde period to occur in 2024, will continue for over six months, making this Mars transit a very powerful one. The last time Mars was in a long run through Cancer was in 2007. So, what lies in store for the world this time?

Mars in Cancer tends to bring a lack of control and the urge to dominate. In a personal chart, this planetary influence indicates 'letting off steam' but this is Mundane astrology which affects the entire planet, so this definition has to be translated into a more basic form. Therefore, letting off steam could literally be just that, possibly in the form of natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions. It could even symbolise boiling geisers as the Yellowstone Caldera - a supervolcano located in the the state of Wyoming, USA - is long overdue for a major blowout. When it does happen, it will be a cataclysmic event. 

Countries ruled by the sign of Cancer include, Scotland, the Netherlands and New Zealand. Add the Mars effect and could this mean some sort of conflict within one of these nations? Civil unrest? Or perhaps, as mentioned above, natural disasters? Mars also triggers accidents and given the highly emotional nature of Cancer, overreaction could be a problem. Cancer rules emotions and Mars rules the physical expression of emotion, so when combined, the effect can be explosive. Cancer rules the sea and Mars symbolises weapons, so sea-to-air missiles may become headline news and also warships, submarines or torpedoes. 

On a positive note, Mars in Cancer is one of the key indicators for the end of the war in Ukraine. Also, when it moves in and out of Leo during this transit, it will form strong aspects to President Zelensky's natal Sun, Venus and Mars. The first one occurs the day before the US Presidential Election. This is very interesting as whoever becomes the next president will affect him - and Ukraine - on a very deep level.

Transiting Mars will be in an opposition aspect to transiting Pluto three times: 

28th October 2024 until the 11th November 2024. From 28th December 2024 to 7th January 2025 and finally from the 20th to the 30th April 2025. This opposition will be a dramatic turning point, and an explosive encounter between Mars and Pluto. A lot of things are coming to a head.

Transiting Mars Through Gemini

Transiting Mars goes on a long trek through Gemini from 20th August 2022 until the end of March 2023. President Zelenskyy's natal Ascendant and Boris Johnson's natal Sun are in Gemini, so this planetary influence will make a big impact on both of them. President Zelenskyy's natal Ascendant will be conjuncted three times by transiting Mars in Gemini. The final hit will take place in early March 2023. Interestingly, this is when many astrologers predict Putin's demise. We shall see..... Also, keep an eye on Donald Trump. Just saying.

So much that's present in our daily lives comes under the domain of Gemini: Communication, transport, electronic devices, commerce, education, information. The people we see: Neighbours, siblings, friends, colleagues. The places we go to: School, college, university, shops, train stations, the local garage and the equipment we use: Cars, computers, phones, any hand-held tools or gadgets. Having Mars there for seven months will bring a sense of aggravation to all of these. This planetary influence will make people argumentative and outspoken, and impatience could lead to ill-considered actions. 

Mars in Gemini is mentally assertive and competitive. Speaking forcefully or bluntly is a trait of this planetary effect which could bring tension with neighbours - and on the world stage 'neighbours' are countries which border each other. We already have trouble between Ukraine and its neighbour Russia, and China is on the brink of attacking its neighbour Taiwan. Will this escalate or will there be yet another threat somewhere else?

Impulsive decisions, or a lack of attention to detail may cause major problems. Over the next few months there will be a surge in communication output. But could the wrong decision be made, resulting in serious consequences? A cyber attack is one possibility. I'm getting a sense of communication in overdrive, or some sort of dramatic event affecting commerce,  telecommunications or the media. Words and information will be high in quantity but low in quality. There will be an abundance of disinformation and misinformation. Gemini also rules infrastructure: roads, railways and airports.

Sparks will fly, that's for sure!.A tendency to react - or overreact - to even the most constructive criticism will be taken as a personal insult under this planetary influence, making this a bad time for subtle negotiations. A lack of tact may provoke needless arguments or aggression. Social media will go into meltdown - as if it's not bad enough already - and is quite likely to become a virtual warzone. Be careful!

Mars will be retrograde in Gemini from 31st October 2022 until 13th January 2023 - bringing a sense of moving in the wrong direction. Mars symbolises focus, clarity and decisiveness but when retrogrades occur this trait is weakened. In the ambiguous sign of Gemini, the effect is compounded leading to duplicity, switching allegiances, mixed messages, confusion, or doubt. Normal rules might not apply in warfare because of Mars (the god of war) in retrograde. Could there be some sort of mutiny? Will the wrong targets be hit? Perhaps even a surrender?

On a personal level, if you are a *Sun sign Gemini, then over the next seven months, as transiting Mars conjuncts your natal Sun, you'll become much more competitive, compulsive and hot blooded. Full of energy, you'll have the desire to achieve more or be in charge of some important situation, whether this is in your personal life or your work. Be confident - but don't be aggressive.
