The Six Year Cycle - what's happening?

In a recent blog article 'Jupiter in Libra', and also at the end of my One Direction Hiatus report, I mentioned an astrological phenomenon involving the 6-year cycle of Jupiter and Uranus which results in new, exciting and phenomenally successful people connected to show business and science. Here's an excerpt:

"There is a very important planetary combination which takes place within the realm of Mundane Astrology (predicting world events) when approximately every six years Jupiter forms an aspect to Uranus. This heralds creative innovations, the beginning of a new trend, stunning success, and phenomenal popularity. These popular innovations happen in the world of science and show business. In the music industry, Jupiter was in conjunction with Uranus in 2010 and One Direction was born. Six years earlier in 2004 when Jupiter was in opposition to Uranus, another Simon Cowell band appeared and took the world by storm - Il Divo. In 1992 with Jupiter trine Uranus - Take That. In 1974 with Jupiter trine Uranus - The Bay City Rollers. These are just a few examples. It does seem that most of these global musical superstars are male groups, but I'm sure some in-depth research would confirm if this is - or is not - the case.

This year marks One Direction's 6th anniversary, and at the end of 2016, Jupiter will be in an opposition aspect to Uranus, so another band is due to appear which will have the same - or even greater - level of success. Who they will be remains to be seen, but if One Direction do decide to return, they might find some tough competition from the new kids on the block....."

As Jupiter began an opposition aspect to Uranus at the end of December 2016, and this will continue on and off until the end of September 2017, the question is: Has this planetary phenomenon had any effect yet? Perhaps.....

In the UK, we recently saw a new talent show called 'Let It Shine' on BBC1 every Saturday evening. The premise of this show was to form a new boyband and involved Gary Barlow - plus a panel of celebrity pop stars - searching for five young men to take part in a new Take That musical. The competition unfolded in three stages - in the first, the acts auditioned as solo artists; in the second, they performed in groups; and in the third, they faced the live shows. At the end of the live final show the winning band was Five To Five.

This band could become the next big musical phenomenon as they were formed under the influence of the Jupiter opposite Uranus aspect in the Six Year Cycle. Yes, it's true that this band will be confined to theatres initially and their performances will take place within a stage musical, but at the end of this anything is possible. Many hugely successful groups have started out in this way. For example, in 1965 an American rock band was formed in Los Angeles for a television series called 'The Monkees'. Four musical actors - Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Davy Jones - became the stars of this TV show about an imaginary band who never achieved success..... However, the show was so popular that The Monkees soon became a real band and had massive success - selling 75 million records worldwide.

A similar phenomenon took place years later in the UK when a group of singers - Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Rachel Stevens, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, and Jon Lee - was created by former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. The group was formed in 1998 and named S Club 7. They quickly rose to fame by starring in their own BBC television series, 'Miami 7'. In their five years together, S Club 7 had four UK number-one singles, one UK number-one album, and a string of hits throughout Europe, including a top-ten single in the United States, Asia, South America and Africa. They recorded four studio albums, released 11 singles and went on to sell over 10 million albums worldwide.

So, it's possible that new boyband Five To Five could be the next big thing in the world of music. Obviously there are still other talent shows which could produce a new phenomenon throughout 2017: X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, America's got Talent, etc, so, let me know what you think. Any ideas?

  1. Interesting for someone like me who loves British girlbands and boybands / manbands! Thanks very much :) Did you look at the influences for the Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays, Little Mix (for the girls) and for Blue, Boyzone and Westlife (fo the boys)? It'd be interesting as well :)

    1. Thank you. No, I haven't looked at the influences for the Spice Girls, Little Mix, Boyzone, etc. Mainly because I'm too busy doing horoscopes and don't have time to research other bands. Also, I'm interested in who will be coming next based on the 6 year cycle of Jupiter and Uranus. However, if you could tell me exactly when those other bands first appeared, I might take a look....

    2. That'd be great :) Thank you ; Spice Girls = 1994 but reached fame in 1997, Girls Aloud = December 2002. Those are my favourite girlbands. I do not want to bother you with the other girlbands and manbands.

    3. Yes, 1994 was a Jupiter Uranus year, so that's why the Spice Girls were a global success. The year 2002 wasn't part of the 6-year cycle. I guess Girls Aloud weren't as phenomenal as the Spice Girls.

  4. Hi Sue,

Very interesting read. Could the new band also be a non English band that has already been formed?

The reason I am asking this is because I am currently following K-POP group called BTS. BTS is not like any regular K-POP group. Yes they are extremely popular in Asia however, they are starting to become very big in the rest of the world. Like their videos get millions of views. They have a massive fanbase that reminds me a bit of 1D.

Their album Wings that came out in 2016 had massive success worldwide.

They are also currently in the process of a world tour and had 5 sold out shows in the US as well as getting interviews with Billboard and others.... They also got nods from American singer Charlie Puth and one of the members even did a collab with the rapper Wale.

    1. Yes, ANY band from ANYWHERE which began during a Jupiter Uranus aspect and has achieved global success. It will depend upon exactly when this band appeared.

    2. Bts appeared in June 2013 but their success and popularity started last year

    3. There's a very good chance that they are under this influence. Thanks for the info ;-)

    4. Thank you Sue and the anon for the info. It will definitely be interesting to see how 1D would come back...

BTS is like the total opposite of 1D. Their videos and shows are on point visually. They have great choreo and their fashion is on point.

They also interact a lot with their fanbase through different media forms. That is one thing that a lot of 1D fans have been complaining about especially towards the end. How they miss the old days when 1D was more interactive... (I don't blame the boys for stopping their online activity...There is so much nasty stuff written in their tags or mentions on social media... Fans became way too entitled)

Funnily enough, now that 1D is on hiatus a lot of their fans have turned to KPOP bands because they get the sort of content they want....

Even though they were 'fabricated' as in the band was put together, they write their material and their label or management is very helpful to them in the sense that they want to make sure that they grow as artists so that later they are gonna be able to 100% be able to write and produce their material.

The group consists of 4 singers and 3 rappers. They are encouraged to pursue their solo interests as well. 2 of the rappers have already released solo mixtapes with great revues. The other one is currently making his own. Another was part of a tv show....

On their last album Wings, each member had a solo track as well as their music as a group. Their music actually talks about serious stuff that young people go through.

Another main thing is that there is no 1 member is the 'face' of the band like in 1D with Harry.

I know the appeal of 1D was that they were the opposite of the 90's boyband. So no matching clothes and especially no dancing... However towards the end, things to me at least looked sloppy in terms of production and promo. I mean they already had the dedicated fanbase that would by anything so why bother...

I guess they were exhausted with the relentless pace and were just ready to try their hand at something else.

So if 1D comes back, I really think things will have to change.

Thanks Sue for all your work!!! Always so interesting to read your material.

    5. Thank you so much for this. BTS obviously have a great management team who fully support them and encourage their creativity. As you say, the total opposite of 1D.

I agree that 1D were sloppy. That's the problem with having a huge fanbase, you don't have to try very hard to please them, so what you do becomes meaningless.

I have to admit, I liked the 90s boybands with their choreographed routines - especially Take That who, in my opinion, are the best boyband ever. I read a comment on Twitter a while ago from a 1D fan who said, "Why don't they make more effort? All they do is wander aimlessly around the stage."

I think 1D will either come back in a completely different form - or they won't come back at all.

    6. Take That are the best, I think. But 1D are absolutely amazing on stage. Take a look at their DVD in Milan. :)

  5. There can't be another One Direction. If a boyband becomes as successful they will need to differentiate themselves just like 1D did from previously successful boybands.

    1. What makes you say that? One Direction were just the latest in a long line of very successful boybands. How did 1D differentiate themselves?
